About

ARTIST, ENGINEER

My name is Rob Lefief, I am an exhibiting sculptor from Southgate, Michigan. My early works were inspired by my upbringing in Caseville, Michigan.  Working on a family farm, I had access to a welder and an abundance of “scrap” metal.

Scrappy, my debut sculpture, rose from the scrap pile and evolved into a half scale T-Rex skeleton. Created to compliment the theme of a local corn maze, Scrappy turned into a local icon. Scrappy helped raise money for charity and was “fed” canned food donated to a local food bank.

As a trained engineer, these sculptures and my custom fabrication work gives me an outlet to challenge my creativity and design.
